Al Kawther Hospital in Basra, Iraq, is part of a healthcare complex of approximately 20,000 sqm with 185 beds, including emergency, diagnostics, intensive care, cardiology, gynecology, imaging, and surgical departments.
Within this healthcare context, Casaluci handled the design and construction of 14 operating rooms, configured to meet the needs of an extensive surgical block supporting different specialties and complex operational flows.

Doors integrated into the modular system
The project develops a coordinated system of operating rooms built with the modular Sintesy system, which combines technical performance, a modular approach, and design consistency within a large-scale surgical block.
The stainless steel and digitally printed glass walls that define the operating rooms combine high hygienic standards with a patient-centered spatial impact. The natural settings and colour palettes integrated into the project help create a highly specialized atmosphere while also enhancing comfort for both patients and medical teams.
To complete the project, Casaluci integrated control panels and doors, components that contribute to the efficient organization of flows and the functional management of surgical environments.
In particular, the control panels allow staff to centrally manage essential operating room functions such as lighting, ventilation, temperature, alarms, and doors, integrating with existing critical systems.
